Why Are We Making This Change?

At ShipWise, we’re committed to delivering a faster, smarter, and more efficient shipping experience. The legacy Next_io API was an important part of our platform’s history, but it’s time to make way for something better. Here’s why we’re asking customers to switch:

  • Improved Performance: The new API offers a faster, more stable experience with better response times.
  • Long-Term Reliability: We’re focusing all ongoing development and support on the api.shipwise.com endpoint.

Who Does This Affect?

This change impacts any customer still connected to the legacy API via the following base URL: (https://next_io.desktopshipper.com/). If your integration is using this domain, you’ll need to update to the current base URL: (https://api.shipwise.com/).

How to Make the Switch

The good news? Migrating is incredibly simple. Here's what you need to know based on your platform type:

ShipWise Web App Users

If you're using the WebApp at app.shipwise.com: No action is required. You’re already connected to the current API endpoint.

🖥️ On-Premises Users (DSX)

If you're using ShipWise On-Prem (DSX), you'll need to manually update the API endpoint in your system settings.

Follow this short step-by-step guide:

🔧 API-Only Users (Custom Integrations)

If you're using the ShipWise API directly within your own system or application (without a UI), just update your base URL to: https://api.shipwise.com/

No other changes are required - same credentials, same functionality.

What Happens If You Don’t Migrate?

  • Performance may degrade over time
  • Support may be limited for issues tied to this older infrastructure
  • Decommissioning is planned end of 2025

To avoid any disruptions, we highly encourage all customers to make the change now.
